スコットランドからお仕事で日本にいらっしゃり、日本で結婚されたというJames様。今日はお子様とご一緒にご来店くださいました。当店にお越しいただくのは今回で2回目。リピートしてくださったことが、とても嬉しかったです。

James様がお持ちのご希望は明確でした。「今掛けているクラウンパント型のデザインは気に入っているけれど、作りが安っぽいのが気になっている」と。アジア仕様のフィットだったため、掛け心地の面でも引っかかりを感じていらしたとのこと。同じクラウンパントのシルエットで、ヨーロピアンフィットの、より上質な一本を選んでほしい、というご要望でした。そこで今回はサイズ感とフィットを優先し、私がおすすめという形でフレームをお選びさせていただきました。

お選びしたのは、フランス生まれのブランド【ANNE et VALENTIN（アン・エ・バレンタイン）】の「AYO 9A22」です。デザイナーのアン女史が掲げるコンセプトは、掛ける人の個性と魅力を引き出すこと。多くのブランドがプラスチック生地をメーカーから仕入れてそのまま使用する中、アン女史は独自にラミネーション技術を研究し続け、自らの感性で一色一色を選び組み合わせることで、他にはないカラーリングのフレームを生み出してきました。一度見たら忘れられないような素材感と配色は、このブランドならではのものです。

「AYO」は、そのアン・エ・バレンタインらしい個性が存分に発揮されたクラウンパントのセルフレーム。大胆な色使いとかなり個性的なシルエットが、他のフレームにはない存在感を放っています。フランスらしいファッション感覚とハンドクラフトの質感が、「安っぽさが気になる」というJames様のこれまでの不満を、きっと払拭してくれるはずです。ヨーロピアンフィットの設計なので、掛け心地の面でも以前のフレームとは大きく違いを感じていただけると思います。

今回はすぐロンドンへ向かわれるとのことで、まずはフレームのみのご購入。レンズはまた後日、ということになりました。お子様とご一緒ということもあって、少しにぎやかで楽しいお時間でしたね。

Thank you so much for your visit to our Ginza store, Mr. James.

Originally from Scotland, Mr. James came to Japan for work, got married here, and this time stopped by with his child in tow — a warm and lively visit we truly enjoyed. This was his second time visiting our store, and we were genuinely glad to welcome him back.

His request was clear from the start. "I like the crown panto shape I'm wearing now, but the quality feels a bit cheap," he told us. The frame was also made with an Asian fit, which meant the fit itself had been a lingering concern. He wanted something with the same crown panto silhouette — but better craftsmanship, a European fit, and a frame that suited him well. So this time, I took the lead in selecting a frame based on those priorities.

The frame I chose was the "AYO 9A22" by the French brand ANNE et VALENTIN. Designer Anne's guiding concept is to bring out the individuality and appeal of the person wearing the frame. While many brands simply use acetate supplied by material manufacturers, Anne has spent years researching lamination techniques on her own, hand-selecting and combining colors through her own sensibility to create frames with color combinations you simply won't find anywhere else. That distinctive material quality and palette is what makes this brand truly unique.

The "AYO" is a crown panto acetate frame that showcases everything ANNE et VALENTIN does best — bold color choices and a distinctly individual silhouette that carries a presence all its own. The French fashion sensibility and the quality of the handcrafted finish should go a long way toward addressing what Mr. James had found lacking in his previous pair. And since this model features a European fit, he should notice a real difference in comfort as well.

Since Mr. James was heading to London soon, he decided to purchase the frame first and have lenses added later. With his child along for the visit, it was a cheerful and fun time in the store.
