アメリカからご旅行でいらっしゃったAriana様。奥野ビルをご散策された後、当店のことをお調べくださり、わざわざお立ち寄りいただきました。お顔が小さく、ちょうど良いサイズ感のフレームを探すのにいつもご苦労されているとのこと。私たちも慎重にいくつものフレームをお試しいただきながら、Ariana様にぴったりと合うサイズ感と雰囲気を持つ一本を探してまいりました。

お選びいただいたのは、アイウェアデザイナー青山嘉道氏が立ち上げた新ブランド、YOSHINORI AOYAMAの一本です。このブランドは「Ambivalence(相反するもの)」をコンセプトに掲げ、創造と破壊、未来と過去、調和と不協和といった相反する価値をデザインに落とし込むことで、唯一無二の存在感を生み出しています。平面的になりがちなフレームを独自の立体構造で表現し、素材には軽量で弾性に優れたチタンを使用することで、掛け心地の良さとモード感を両立。幾何学的なスタイルや「あるべきものがない」という発想が、日常に個性と刺激をもたらしてくれるブランドです。

YA-020は、一見すると丸眼鏡の形をしているように見えますが、よく見るとあるはずの場所にリムがないという、少し変わったデザインになっています。本来あるべきものがないという発想が、そこに視線を集め、普通の丸眼鏡に程よい個性と他では味わえない楽しみをもたらしてくれる一本です。Made in 鯖江の確かな技術が支える立体的な構造と、繊細なチタンの質感が、Ariana様の華奢なお顔立ちに自然と馴染み、品のある個性を引き立ててくれました。サイズ感も完璧で、Ariana様にもとても気に入っていただけたご様子でした。

Ms. Ariana visited us while traveling from the United States. After exploring the Okuno Building, she looked up our store and kindly made the effort to stop by. She mentioned that with her petite face, finding frames with the right size and fit has always been a challenge. We carefully tried on various frames together, searching for the perfect piece that would suit both Ms. Ariana's proportions and aesthetic.

The frame she chose is from YOSHINORI AOYAMA, a new brand launched by eyewear designer Yoshinori Aoyama. This brand embraces the concept of "Ambivalence," incorporating contradictory values such as creation and destruction, future and past, harmony and discord into its designs, creating a truly unique presence. The brand transforms what would typically be flat frames into distinctive three-dimensional structures, using lightweight and flexible titanium to achieve both comfortable wearability and a sophisticated modern sensibility. With geometric styles and the provocative idea of "the absence of what should be there," this brand brings individuality and excitement to everyday life.

The YA-020 model appears at first glance to be a round frame, but upon closer inspection, one notices that the rim is missing from where it should be—a delightfully unconventional design choice. This concept of "the absence of what should be present" draws the eye and brings a subtle uniqueness and an enjoyment unlike any other to what might otherwise be an ordinary round frame. The solid craftsmanship of Made in Sabae, combined with the three-dimensional structure and the delicate texture of titanium, naturally complemented Ms. Ariana's graceful features and enhanced her refined individuality. The size was absolutely perfect, and Ms. Ariana seemed very pleased with her choice.

Since she was returning home soon, this time she purchased the frame only. If lens production proves difficult in the United States, we have arranged to assist her when she visits Japan again.
